Highfield is a popular area to live with its ideal location attracting students, working professionals and families.


The village is a suburb of Southampton, England. Situated to the north of the city centre, it boundaries Southampton Common, Bassett, Swaythling and Portswood. Additionally, it’s home to the main campus of the University of Southampton, which is built on a former brick field.

Residential Area

As well as plenty of student accommodation, there is a range of family homes, both semi-detached and detached available.


Shops include a Tesco, flower shop, post office, a pharmacy and many more convenient stores, as well as the variety of shops and banks offered on the University campus.


The student union, local pubs and the local nightclub ‘Clowns’ provide a thriving nightlife scene. There are also various other clubs and pubs available including ‘Sobar’ and ‘Lennons’ as well as an alternative club ‘The Dungeons’. Other pubs and restaurants include The Highfield, The Crown, The Cowherds, The Talking Heads, The Stile, The Gate and The Mitre.

Local Schools

Besides the University, Highfield CE Primary School is also close by.


There are plenty of transport links in this area, including the Bluestar bus and Uni Link busses running regularly until late. It is also only a short journey to Southampton central train station.
